Punjab's Safe School Vehicle Policy in Sangrur district

Sangrur is in Punjab. We opened two dated reports in Hindi from Bhaskar: a district check in March 2026 and a check in the Dirba sub-division in August 2026. They are news reports. Please ask the Sangrur District Education Officer or RTO what applies to your school.

• A district check (March 2026). Bhaskar reported a special check of school buses in Sangrur under the Safe School Vehicle Policy, guided by the district programme of the social security, women and child development department.
• Who checked. A team from the education department, the police and the district child protection staff inspected buses of different schools and looked at their safety arrangements.
• What they found. Some buses broke the policy: drivers without a uniform, no fire extinguisher, and no first-aid box. Challans were issued, and schools and drivers were told to follow the policy fully.
• Joint checks in Dirba (August 2026). Bhaskar reported that, under the Deputy Commissioner's direction, traffic police and the district child protection staff ran a special drive on school buses in Dirba under the policy. Buses with incomplete papers were acted on.
• Papers named. The Dirba report names fitness, insurance, registration and pollution papers among those checked.

Some features, such as cameras, a live feed and fee payment, depend on the package a school takes.
