Student Mobility Programme (7 June 2026). Newsmeter reported that Cyberabad Police are rolling out a technology-driven Student Mobility Programme to make student transport safer and more transparent. The Commissioner met private travel operators, transport department officials, RTC representatives, traffic police, the Society for Cyberabad Security Council and school transport managers.
What the Commissioner said. Vehicles that carry students should meet the prescribed safety standards, and buses and vans should have CCTV cameras and GPS-based real-time tracking. He also called for close checks of vehicle maintenance, fitness and drivers' qualifications and licences.
Parent app and control room (planned). The report says a mobile application is being developed so parents can see the driver's details, the vehicle's fitness status, the route and the current location, and whether more students are on board than the prescribed capacity. Vehicles would also be watched in real time from the Command and Control Centre. These are plans described in the report, not a finished service.
