School bus checks in Noida: what has been reported

Uttar Pradesh, not Delhi

Noida and Greater Noida are in Uttar Pradesh. School bus directions come from the Uttar Pradesh Transport Department and the Gautam Buddh Nagar transport authorities, and are not the same as Delhi's. The reports below are dated and attributed. They are not a full list of rules, so please ask your Noida RTO what applies to your buses.

Noida school bus set-ups and what each one needs

These general points come with questions to ask. We do not use customer stories.

School-owned, contracted or parent-hired vehicles

The Hindustan Times report says the Uttar Pradesh order covers three kinds of school vehicle: school-owned buses, contracted private buses and vans hired by parents. The school may hold information for some of these and not for others. Ask the RTO: How does the portal treat each kind? Ask any seller: Can you give the school a clear list of each vehicle's tracking and camera set-up?

Portal paperwork

Schools were asked to upload vehicle, driver and safety details, including GPS and CCTV, to ISVMP. We do not say My School Ride connects to the portal, and we have no claim about it. The practical question is how easily a school can get its own records out of a system. Ask any seller: What reports can the school download for each bus and each trip?

The school can be asked, not only the operator

In the Times of India report, officials said action can be taken against schools as well as bus owners, drivers and conductors. A school that uses a contractor should know what the contractor has fitted. Ask: Which of the checked items does our contractor cover, and which are the school's job?

Wide sectors and winter fog

Noida and Greater Noida have wide roads and many sectors, and winter fog can slow morning routes. A live map and a reminder before the stop help parents. Ask: Can parents see the bus location on a foggy morning without calling the school?

How My School Ride fits

My School Ride is a school bus tracking system from Satcop India Pvt. Ltd. The Satcop India website describes a 4G GPS device on the bus that sends the location about every 5 seconds, RFID cards that students tap on a reader on the bus, and optional 4G cameras and dashcams. The parent app shows a live map, pickup and drop reminders and an attendance view. The transport manager dashboard and the admin console give the school its own view of every bus. Some camera, live-feed and fee-payment features depend on the school package.

We do not say these features meet any portal or inspection requirement by themselves. Ask us for the device model and its test details, and check each rule point with your RTO.
