How a school bus tracking system works
As described on the Satcop India website, the system has three jobs.

Do I track the school bus using an app?
Yes. Parents use the My School Ride parent app, which shows the bus on a live map. The site lists pickup and drop reminders and alerts about 2 km before the stop. Schools and transport managers use the web console and the dashboard. The parent app is on Google Play.
What alerts does a school bus tracking system give?
On the Satcop India website, parents get pickup and drop reminders and alerts about 2 km before the stop. Staff get wrong-direction alerts, and the driver and attendant app can send an SOS to the school admin. Some alerts depend on the school package and are confirmed at the demo.
How quickly can the system be installed in school buses?

What is the benefit of school bus tracking for parents?
Parents see the same live trip as the school, so they do not need to call the office or the driver to ask where the bus is. They also get reminders when the bus is near the stop.
Does the system record attendance?

Do I need cameras?

Does the system include an AIS-140 device?
Satcop India's AIS-140 device is described on its website as "Designed to meet AIS 140 standards as laid down by ARAI, physically tested by ICAT for 60 days — with GPS, GLONASS, and IRNSS (GAGAN) support."
