How We Compare School Bus Tracking Apps and Systems
Last checked: 3 October 2026. Our own product, so read with that in mind. My School Ride is a product of Satcop India Pvt. Ltd, the company behind this website.
Quick answer
My School Ride is a school bus tracking product, so we are one of the companies in our own comparisons. On every compare page we ask the same questions, use only public sources, and show the link and the date next to each fact. If we cannot find a public source for something, we leave it out.
Who we are
My School Ride is our own product. It is a school bus tracking system with a parent app, a driver app, a transport manager dashboard and an admin dashboard. The company behind it is Satcop India Pvt. Ltd.
When My School Ride appears in a table, it is marked as our product. You can see how we use these pages in our guides:
- How to choose a school bus tracking app in India
- AIS-140 vs basic GPS for school buses
- Phone-based vs GPS device school bus tracking
- School bus tracking vs school ERP
All of them are listed in Compare.
What we check
We ask the same questions about every company, in the same order. The reason for each question is in the table.
| What we check | Why we ask | Source for the reason |
|---|---|---|
| Live bus location on a map | Parents and schools want to see where the bus is. Ask how often the location updates. | Our own checklist |
| Parent app and alerts | Parents need to know when the bus is near, and when a child boards or gets off. | Our own checklist |
| Student attendance | Maharashtra's rules ask for a daily record of boarding and de-boarding with times. | Maharashtra Gazette, rule 6C |
| Cameras | Maharashtra's rules ask for CCTV or video surveillance, with a feed to parents through the app. | Maharashtra Gazette, rule 10A |
| Panic or SOS | Maharashtra's rules ask for a tracking device with a panic button. A button in an app and a button fitted on the bus are not always the same thing. | Maharashtra Gazette, rule 10(xxix) |
| AIS-140 device | Maharashtra's rules ask for a device with specifications not inferior to AIS-140. | Maharashtra Gazette, rule 10(xxix) |
| Parent login | Many school bus apps work only if the school has added the parent's mobile number. | Store listings we looked at (see Sources) |
| Phone or GPS device | Some systems use a device fitted on the bus. Some use a phone. Ask which one, and what the rules allow. | Our own checklist |
| Price | Parents and schools ask what it costs and what is included. | Our own checklist |
| Fit with your state's rules | Rules differ by state and change over time. | Maharashtra Gazette |
Where our facts come from
| Type of fact | What we use | How we show it |
|---|---|---|
| About another company | Only what that company publishes itself: its own website pages and its app-store listings. | The link and the date we looked, next to the fact |
| About My School Ride | Our own website, our own app-store listings and information from our product team. | The link and the date, or "from our product team" |
| About rules | The official text first. For Maharashtra, this is the Government Gazette of 16 July 2026. Where we have not seen the official text for a point, we say so and tell you to ask your RTO. | The link to the official document |
| About standards such as AIS-140 | Official government sources, for example the PIB release on the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways notification. | The link |
| About prices | Only a price printed on a public page. | The link, the date, and what the price covers |
If we cannot confirm a fact
We do not guess. If we cannot find a public source for something, we leave it out of the table.
In a table, a row stays only when we have a public source for it. If a point has no public source, we remove the row and move the topic into the questions you can ask each company yourself.
How we list companies
My School Ride is marked as our product wherever it appears. We do not give scores or rankings. We do not use other companies' logos.
How we treat prices
We show a price only when it is printed on a public page, and we show the link and the date next to it. Prices change. A price may not include GST, the SIM or data plan, the app, installation or support, so always ask for a written quote and ask what is included. We do not say a price is high or low. We say what it covers and where it was printed.
How we treat ratings and reviews
We may show an app-store rating as plain text with the date we saw it. We do not make our own rating scores.
How we cover rules
For Maharashtra, we read the official Government Gazette of 16 July 2026 and summarise it in plain words. Rules in other states may be different. This site is not legal advice, so please confirm with your RTO or the Transport Department before you act.
When we last checked
Every compare page shows the date of the last check at the top. We re-check the facts on each page at least every three months. A page with an older date may be out of date, so please check the company's own page too.
Send a correction
If you work for a company we mention and you see a mistake, or you are a parent or a school and you spotted an error, tell us by calling +91 8600 002222 or on WhatsApp at https://wa.link/ri3w49. We will check it and fix it.
Frequently asked questions
Is My School Ride one of the products compared?
Yes. My School Ride is our own product, so it appears in our comparisons. It is marked as our product, and we use the same questions and the same source rules for it as for every other company. Read our facts with that in mind, and check them against the links we give.
How often do you update these pages?
Every page shows the date it was last checked. We re-check the facts at least every three months, and sooner if someone sends us a correction. If a page has an older date, check the company's own website for the latest information.
How do I report a mistake?
Call +91 8600 002222 or write to us on WhatsApp at https://wa.link/ri3w49. Tell us the page, what is wrong, and a link to a public page that shows the right fact. We will check it and fix the page.
Why does a table sometimes have fewer rows than I expected?
We keep a row in a table only when we have a public source for it. If a point has no public source, we remove the row. The question may still appear in our list of things to ask each company yourself.
Do you show prices?
Only when a price is printed on a public page. We show the link, the date and what the price covers. Prices may not include GST, SIM, support or installation, so always ask for a written quote.
